Indispensable tips/tools for your blogs
We have talked about many things so far, niche research, keyword research, blogging seo, traffic building and other things. So far what I have not discussed is the tools of trade you should be using.
Let me start from the beginning. Most of the tools are free but you won’t go wrong with some of these paid tools.
Wordtracker : You should have a subscription to wordtracker. It’s one of the best keyword tools available online. I think there are nothing like it. I’d suggest you to get a week’s subscription and study wordtracker. It kicks overture’s arse in every department. I’d never ever use overture tool. It isn’t worth it.
Another product that you should buy is Wordtracker magic. This is an ebook written by John Alexander. You’ll be able to harness wordtracker’s full potential by this guide. Again its highly recommended and it should be in your library.
Wordpress : Wordpress is your best blogging platform that you can get for free. Don’t forget about its Huge fanbase. Plus you can get almost any plugin you can think of to automate your blogging task.
Wordpress Plugin – Sociable : Some create a Wordpress plugin called socialable. You can download this for free at http://push.cx/sociable .From the site : Social bookmarking sites allow websurfers to save, catalog, and share interesting pages they find online. The Sociable plugin appends links for your readers to use those sites to the end of each of your blog’s posts, increasing your potential audience.
Again this is one tool you just cannot forget. Your readers’ll be able to add and share your blog posts in a jiffy. Remember we are writing our content to be shared and consumed in blogosphere.
Onlywire.com : Another nifty tool is onlywire.com. It allows you to add your posts manually to many social bookmarking sites in one go. It has a facility for adding to digg.com, flurl, del.icio.us, technorati and many other sites.The major difference between the plugin and this website is that the plugin allows your users to add your post in their sharing network. But this tools allows you to share your posts.
Again the main idea is about sharing and link building from all these social networking sites.
Ultimate Tag Warrior Plugin: This is another one of plugins for wordpress (sorry I only prefer wordpress that’s why I can only refer to wordpress plugins). This plugin will help you create tags for your major sites like technorati, icerocket etc. Again this is a must have plugin for your blogs.You can download this plugin at http://www.neato.co.nz/archives/2007/06/30/ultimate-tag-warrior-fin-the-end/
Again every bit of these will go towards optimizing your blogs and getting traffic. So they are worth wasting your time over. Read my article on tagging.
Google Sitemaps: Download your plugin here http://www.arnebrachhold.de/2005/06/05/google-sitemaps-generator-v2-final . This plugin will generate sitemap in xml which you can upload to google sitemaps. Another good method to ensure proper indexing of all of your posts.
Podcasting plugin: If you like to talk then you’ll be delighted by this plug-in. This is great plugin for wordpress where you can publish podcast with ease. Subscribe to comments: Another Nifty plug-in you can use is Subscribe to comments. It helps your reader to subscribe to specific posts so that they can track the conversation. Helpful tool http://txfx.net/code/wordpress/subscribe-to-comments/
Akismet : Last but not least, one of the best spam killing tool for you. This is a really great plug-in for killing spammy comments in your wordpress blog. It also learns from your behavior and automatically deletes the spam comments.
You can notice so far, in my top 10 list, I have only listed 2 tools which are paid. Which basically means that you can start your blogging career without much start up costs. So what’s stopping You?

Day 11: Create Multiple Streams of Traffic
This may be the most important blog post you ever read. This is not just an attention getting gimmick. I am saying this because this is IMPORTANT.
I think you understand how important traffic is for your website. So please read this carefully.
I hope by now you are generating some traffic and have few subscribers in your list. Most of your traffic right now will come from adwords campaigns. If you start writing articles and submit to article directory like ezinearticles.com on daily basis, you’ll see some traffic to your website.
Have you ever wondered how exactly people come to your site?
Often they’ll follow a link somewhere left on internet and then lands up on your website. So this puny little link is the cause for you to get traffic.
This is exactly you should understand. The more exposure you have (or the more links you have) the better your traffic would be.
To create a traffic avalanche you should be focussed on getting more of your website out there. That means more content, more links, more reports and stuff like that…
Don’t worry, you don’t have to do it in one day… Start slowly and build overtime. If you just write 1 article a day and publish on Net, it’ll bring traffic overtime.
It’s all about momentum. Building momentum overtime.
Do you know Avalanche starts from breaking one tiny particle of ice?
From one particle, it breaks a foundation and break 2 particles. These 2 particles breaks 3-4 particles and soon it’ll turn into avalanche.
Here’s something you should understand. Like I said It’s all about momentum. Every website will start from Zero traffic. It all depends on you to generate more and more traffic to your website.
Anyone who is focussed on getting or using 1 way of traffic is destined to be doomed. Things and situations change and on internet they change very rapidly.
Is it all about Incoming links?
Yes and No. Because the quality of traffic generated from the links will vary. Some will give you better targeted traffic, some will be just complete junk, waste of your time.
Even then it’s better to get more exposure. The more you start working on creating links, more your website will get traffic. Your traffic will bring more traffic and then it starts multiplying if you keep applying simple method of creating multiple streams.
Today we are going to discuss multiple streams of traffic. So far we have implemented few methods of traffic generation(Paid & Free).1. Adwords campaign (Paid)

3. Blog comments
4. Forum Posting.
Now if you are doing all of this on daily basis. My recommendation is to add one traffic stream a day to your existing website.
Here are few ideas for you…
1. Classifieds posting.
2. Social networking
3. Directories
4. Auction traffic
5. Viral traffic
6. Traffic generators like traffic swarm
7. Blogs
8. Video traffic
9. Podcasting traffic.
So I hope this small list can get you started on getting more traffic. Here’s my suggestion for you today.
1. Decide & Add one Stream of traffic today(Estimated time : 10 minutes).
2. Write Article and submit it to ezinearticles.com(Estimated time : 20 minutes)
3. Post on Forums, Yahoo answers and Blogs(Estimated time : 20-40 minutes).
4. Keep improving your conversion on your Adwords campaign. (Estimated time : 20-30 minutes)
Total Time spent : About 90 Minutes (1 hr & 30 minutes). Again as you become more experienced you’ll cut down on lot of time you.
