Article Writing tips – Use NLP to become a Better writer

Today, In this article, I am going to discuss how NLP can help you get more focussed and help you write better articles in no time at all. As the name NLP suggest (Neuoro Linguistic Programming), we are going to train you brain to spit out higher quality articles at faster rate. Now you might believe, it’s not possible but I am going to prove it is.

For example, Here is something I do regularly when I write article. I always start with Pen and paper and start outlining all the ideas that are in my head to write about. Why I do it?

Because it’s an anchor for my mind to let it know, that It’s time to write and get going. My unconcious part of the brain recoganizes this anchor and start firing out information about topics I want to write.

I use pen and paper because this is my habit of note taking from my high school. Though I was out of high school about 12 yrs ago, this habit of note taking still remains. If I can use such an old habit to turn my mind into article writing machine, can you imagine what you can do with your habits?

How to create this sort of anchor?

There are many ways to set this kind of anchor. First thing you have to do is find something you can use as an anchor (for me it’s my pen and diary).

One of my friend uses a Cap (which he calls a “thinking typing cap”). I used to believe my pen can absorb information (it’s crazy I know).

Now Use this anchor and state your intention aloud, “As I use this thinking typing cap, I’ll use it to write a 300 word article in 10 minutes”. Everytime you write an article, do this simple thing.

Use feeling that your cap is absorbing information and it’ll help you to write.

NLP is powerful tool, and it can set this kind of anchor in 1 time or about 3–4 times (it depends on your intention).

You can use anything to replace the or pen/diary. It has to be personal.

Now after you’ve built this anchor you need to use it daily to write. In a matter of week, you’ll find yourself writing far more than you can imagine yourself to write.

How to do write an article that attracts attention and get you more traffic?

Article writing is one of my favorite technique to build traffic and get attention in the market. If you look at this technique, it’s foundational for many other skills like writing or creating products or building a good blog or writing an email. Everything hinges on your skill to write a good article.

In this article, I am going to discuss the 3 key factors that’ll make your readers sit up and take notice about your articles.

What are the key points that you need ?

  1. Your Article Headline /Title.
  2. Your Article Introduction
  3. Your article’s Author Bio box.

Of course, there are other elements, but these three above will make a HUGE changes in the way you write. In this article, I’ll discuss writing article headline in complete detail.

So let’s start with writing your article headline.

Imagine, you are in a bar…

You see a beautiful women with nice long legs and sexy black  dress standing there all by herself. You of course being a man, check her out and then notice, guys approaching her.

There’s no response in her body language, no changes in her expression and she shorts down the guys. What you are going to do now?

This is exactly where you are right now in terms of writing articles. You are just like hundred of guys who are trying to approach a beautiful woman who’s too damn busy to look bored.

You need to attract her. You need to be different.

In the crowd of people (or articles), you need to be powerful, attractive (get attention).

Take a look at your current article title. It looks capital B BORING. What can you do to make some changes?

First you can add some specific which makes people take notice “How 27 yr old single mom made $4570 in her first month at internet marketing”.

The specifics of 27, single mom, $4570 will make people take notice.

But do you think it generates a curiosity?

I think there are few changes we can make and make it more interesting.

“How 27 yr old single mom used these 3 techniques to generate $4570 in her first month of internet marketing?”

Ok Now it generates some curiosity… Right.

If you keep working on this, you’ll find a headline that’s many times better than either of these two. You should spend 90% of the time in writing a headline.

How to get people to open up your email?

Imagine you are a man…

You just met this beautiful woman, and exchanged phone number and fixed a simple date.

Now, as you are going to meet her on the first date, You are thinking about. How you are going to kiss those lovely lips and then some more. Later in the year, you would love to get married and few years down the line, may be kids.

You arrive at the location and…

And…

She completely flaked on you. All your dreams shatters in million pieces immediately.

What happened there?

The issue was trust, rapport and some more trust. You cannot count on the fact that you got her number you are going to get a real date and not get flaked.

You were counting on your chicken farm, even before you put in any kind of efforts to build it. Right?

That’s exactly what happens with  most marketers. They start day dreaming just because they got the email on their list.

Hurray, You are already getting traffic and You’ve started building your list. Now comes the major issue. How to get people to open up their emails and then take action.

One of the thing about email marketing is that, the number of people doing it makes it really hard. For example, I get at least 200 emails per day in just one of my email inbox.

So how you can get them to open up their email and take action?

This starts from the moment, your reader arrives at your website. First you have to build trust, create a rapport and then sell on the idea of subscribing.

You have to remember to keep points above (building trust and rapport) in your mind every time you email.

Your first email will be going to play a major part in gaining their trust and rapport. This is your typical thank you mail, for which you should sit down and re-write it completely.

You should think about “how this email can create rapport?”. Can you take a guess?

Tell them about yourself, who are you? What you do? What do you like? (BTW, if you tell these to a women, she might think you are a stalker, pretty crazy right)

Tell a story. Telling a story goes a long way to build rapport with almost anyone. Everyone loves story, even if they say it otherwise.

After you’ve done introducing yourself, you have to give them a reason to remember you. Yes, so far what we are doing is going to help.

So, how are you going to make them remember you. It starts with Branding. You have to brand your newsletter. My newsletter always have [IMBasics] and it sets me apart from other marketers immediately. You can brand yourself in many different ways.

Frank kern brands his newsletter with whackiness. Eben pagan brands with just Authority even with people who’ve never heard of him. Eben’s avatar in dating world “David Deangelo” is regarded as Top authority. His newsletter name is pretty much “Double your dating” branding.

Like I said, many different types of branding to do.

What are the steps you should implement?

1. Create a thank you email.
2. Share a story about yourself.
3. Create a brand name for your newsletter.
4. Differentiate your newsletter with others [IMBasics].

That’s how I get over 60% opening in my email newsletter.
