With almost everybody jumping onto the Internet marketing bandwagon, it has become highly competitive. If you want to succeed online, then you have to do things differently. In this article, I’ll discuss Market research, keywords research and some basic ideas that’ll help you succeed no matter the economy. The ideas and simple enough and can be done from starting now.
First Key point is – Marketing Research.
Marketing research is going to be the Most important factor that’ll either break your online business or make it. Choosing a Right market is the way to make money online. I don’t like to do things like other marketers and go niche. My criteria to target a market is by checking “If people in the market are buying”. If they are not buying, Its just too much waste of time and effort to research what they’ll buy, how and when.
With my method, you don’t have to do the research about demographics and other things.
Second Key point is – Keyword Research.
One of my SEO friend use to say “You can never get enough keywords”. My thoughts are same on this matter. You can never get enough. I personally use different keyword tools like wordtracker or keyword discovery to gather a large set of keywords.
After that, I divide these keywords into checking how can I use them in any way. When you have a big list of keywords with you, You’ll be able to see how the market is performing. How people are searching for the the stuff in the market.
Third Key point is – Building Momentum and Keep going on.
After you’ve finished with the research, it’s time to put your gear on and get ready to rumble. Now you have to bring traffic to your website. Building traffic is all about momentum. You have to build enough momentum that it bursts and bring you loads of traffic.
As you are building this momentum, you should not cease your traffic building efforts. For next 6 months to 12 months, you should be as aggressive as possible. You have to ride the momentum like a surfer ride the sea wave.
If you just keep these points in mind while building your website, then you’ll do well.
How to prepare yourself before you get into internet marketing?
When I started back in 2004, I spend 6 months gathering research on “how to do internet marketing”. But when I started doing it, I bombed despite all my efforts. So what went wrong?
In starting I believe it to be my arrogant attitude, but today, I just says it was plain ignorance. You cannot learn marketing by doing research. That’s how college professors do and they aren’t marketers.
First thing you have to do is to decide – How to monetize your website?
When it comes to monetizing your website, today you have plenty of ways to monetize. I believe, there are basic 3 ways which are pretty damn solid. Selling your own products, Selling affiliate products and Google’s adsense.
You have to chose one of the way, before you can jump. I am suggesting one way, because this way, you’ll be more focused. Think like a Laser beam, millions of light particles are concentrated on 1 point and it becomes the most destructive light beam ever. Right.
That’s why I want you to focus on 1 way to monetize so that you can increase your earnings. Otherwise, you’ll end up like me getting few dollars in each of my 5-10 different affiliate accounts, adsense accounts and rest of other accounts.
Second thing you have to worry about getting traffic.
How to get traffic? This question has stumped beginners and veterans regularly. How do you? The answer is very simple. Think about building Links to your website. Get as many links as possible, in as many forms as possible. In fact whenever you are doing any kind of promotion, you are getting inwards links.
And the third point is How to sustain the traffic?
First thing you have to remember, you never cease your promotional efforts. That’s pretty stupid to do that. I made a mistake and then again I have to build the traffic from the scratch. Bad Idea that.
To sustain traffic you have to concentrate on turning your readers into action takes (do something on your website, buy your stuff or subscribe to your list etc).
Again, understand, unless you are focused on monetizing one way, you’ll have hard time implementing last piece of puzzle. The moment you’ll do that, you’ll notice the rise in your income.
That’s how you should prepare yourself to build a successful online business.

How to create and publish an ebook?
One of the way you can start profiting immediately is by creating your own ebooks. It may seem like a huge task, when it’s really easy. Today in this article, I am going to talk about designing, important things like index, copyrights and other stuff. So lets get started.
1. Ebook Design – Now this has nothing to do with your graphics skills. When I am talking about ebook design, I am talking about easy to read layout. You have to worry about few things in an ebook.
First thing you have to worry about the Fonts you are using. Remember, an ebook is often read on a computer screen. So if you are using any sort of fancy fonts, chances are, your ebook is hard to read. That’s why it’s often suggested to use Sans serif fonts like Verdana, Tahoma for ebook.
Second thing you have to worry about is how big the font are going to be. You paragraph should be spaced at one line and fonts size should not be more than 12 font size.
Using a standard 12 size is pretty much a decent size for normal text. Of course you can increase the font size for title or topic heading.
2. Second thing in an ebook, you should worry about the copyright issues and notice. You should post a copyright issue on all of your text, regardless you are selling it or giving it away for free.
For free, you should always put a notice about it on the copyright about what can your readers do with the free ebook.
Third thing I am going to talk about is Adding few money pages. I am calling them a money page because, that’s what they are. These are pages that are going to promote your website, your list or any of your other products.
I often like to use these pages at the start (before index) and at the end as an extra resources. Promote your sales pitch for subscriber list in these pages.
Creating a design for first page – Unless you are an ebook graphic designer, I suggest you to take it easy and just stick to the basics. Your first page should be about the “Title of the ebook”, A sample of what’s inside, Who’s the author and How to contact the author (website info).
This is the bare minimum of the stuff you should put it in your ebook. That’ it, add your content and voila you are done.

- Article Distribution – Believe it or not, this still works. Even if you are not getting any traffic from the articles, the link juice will build up overtime and will help you get traffic in long run.
- On page Search engine optimization – Basic SEO stuff still works, that’s why lots of webmaster optimize their tags and word on wordpress platform.
- Building a wordpress blog – One of the SEO technique is about building a regularly updated wordpress blog. It has been noticed by web masters how wordpress blogs are in favor of google since ages ago. It’s the structure of the blog that google favors. It isn’t going anywhere. You can surely create a blog right now and start getting benefits from it.
- Social bookmarking – In last few years, this technique fell out of favor. As they said “It’s been abused much”. But the truth is, social bookmarking still works, if you know what you are doing. Think about sharing some good stuff with others, then you’ll be able to create content that can be bookmarked.

The key is called “momentum”. As you start implementing all these techniques, you’ll start gaining momentum. With this momentum you can create a avalanche of traffic overtime. If you are expecting people to drop whatever they are doing and check out your website? then you should provide them motivation to do it so.
I highly recommend you to implement all the 7 techniques and start seeing the results for yourself. One of my friend increased his website traffic by 60% in a week by adding “social bookmarking” to his current lot of promotion techniques. That number 60% was about 700 unique visitors per day. So you can assume, he was getting quite a lot of traffic on his website already.
