Why Some people’s article don’t get results as they expected?
Imagine you started to write an article… and finish it.
Then you submitted them to various top article directories. It’s been few days since you submitted, there’s no traffic, list building and no chances of sales at all.
You remember marketer’s promising you the moon if you use article marketing. So where do you went wrong?
You wouldn’t be surprised to see lots of people is forum dissing article marketing. Frankly speaking they are not wrong at all. They just don’t know.
I believe there are 4 major reason why your article didn’t get the results you expected?
1. Bad Quality Article – Now there is not much to say about it. Even on some very highly moderated sites like ezinearticles.com you’ll see quite a few bad quality articles. There can be many reasons why anyone would think that article is not good.
2. Bad Title/ Headline – Whenever you write and post articles, you article is competing with tons of other articles. What are your chances of been seen?
Your article title is most important in at least getting acquainted with your readers. It should urge the reader to open your article and read. If it’s not doing that, then the title is not doing it’s job properly.
3. No Flow at all – Articles are supposed to have a flow in them. People who are reading it should start at the beginning and slide all the way down to your author bio box and click the link. That’s why you need flow in the article.
Now this is little hard to spot in your articles. You’ll find sometimes, you articles have jumps, hiccups and road blocks which often effects your click through on your bio box. It takes practice to get good at spotting them.
4. Bad Author Bio Box – I believe over 95% of bio boxes aren’t as good as people believe. I can even some of my own in that list. Frankly speaking writing a good author bio box is like an art. Unless you practice a lot and understand it intimately, you aren’t going to write a good one.
Even after writing 100’s of article, sometimes I get stuck in this zone. There are cookie cutter approach that you can use. But they only go so long.
Well as you can see, these are just 4 reasons why your article doesn’t get results? You can learn to write high quality, unique articles with my article writing secrets.
Don’t worry, in this series I’ll be sharing stuff that’ll help you guide through and avoid the same pitfalls as above.
Content Marketing – The Sin of giving too much information
Couple of years ago, when Eben pagan jumped into internet marketing scene, he created a ripple which turned into tidal wave and ripped through the so called “Wannabe internet marketers”.
He introduced many of the great concepts. Today I am going to discuss one of his concept called “Moving the Free Line”.
This concept is all about giving information. According to Eben, you can never give too much information. That’s why he introduced “Moving the Free line” concept.
A beautiful concept though little misused, misunderstood by others.
I have noticed when you give too much information, people tend to buy a lot less.
Think of it like this.
You are hungry. No, you are not just hungry, YOU ARE HUNGRY. Right.
In front of you, there’s a large table with tons of stuff to eat. The first thing you’ll notice is that your hunger just went way down.
It doesn’t matter how much hungry you were, you won’t be eating much at that table.
(I am foodie and I feel the phenomena everytime I attend a party, marriage or events. damn it)
What happens when you are in front of tons of food?
Your mind gets short circuited and starts to wonder what you should eat and what you shouldn’t?
This is exactly what happens when you are in front of too much information. You don’t know what to do. So your reader, tend to shy away from any sort of buying behavior.
Another things which sometimes happens is that people feel that they’ve learnt all they can. So they never buy your stuff.
Am I saying “Moving the Free line” concept is wrong?
No, not at all. The concept is As solid as 24 carat gold.
In fact I, myself recommend people to give away their best stuff as free information.
The issue is about removing the fat from your content.
If you notice Eben’s mailing (join his email list), you’ll see few patterns.
He gives away information freely, but it’s in bits and pieces. He’s not trying to force feed you all of his genius work.
Like there’s popular saying
Q – How to do you eat an elephant?
A – In bits and pieces and breaks.
So what should you do now?
1. Take your articles, pdf’s, blog posts and email.
2. Check where you are trying to force feed your reader.
3. Remove all the fat and provide it in digestible chunks.
How to use Most Important Email of an autoresponder to build a loyal following?
Let me ask you a very important question, I hope you think about it and answer honestly.
Q – At what point do you try to build a relationship with your prospects online?
Of course, with the title of this article, you can guess, we are going to talk about autoresponder emails. But the question is WHEN and HOW you should try to build relationship.
You’d be surprised how easy (yet alluding the real answer).
The answer is, Your Very First Email. Yes, the one that goes as “Thank your for subscribing”.
Think about it, you must have done something right that’s why they have taken the time to subscribe to your list and click the confirmation link.
Right? Exactly. That’s why this is your MOST IMPORTANT EMAIL.
Now You can change to build
1. Rapport.
2. Trust.
3. loyalty
4. Friendship (or more importantly long term relationship)
Now the 2nd part of the question is, How do you do all of the above?
The answer is, Be Yourself, Be Authentic.
When you are writing your ‘thank you’ email. Don’t just stop at “thank you for subscribing and blah blah”. This is the right time to get to know each other.
1. Remind them why they subscribed – There’s always buyer’s remorse even when they are subscribing to get free stuff. So you have to remind them about their decision was right. You can do 2 ways.
1. Repeat your sales pitch again – You can repeat your sales pitch again. Tell them why they subscribed
2. What’s to come – Share with them what else you are going to share with them.
3. Use both of the above – This is rarer format, but it can be used.
2. Share your story – Tell them how you started in the market. Tell them what compelled you to find information about the topic. Tell them what makes you an expert.
Share your up and downs with the story.
3. Give Proof – If it’s possible, give proof about your statements. The better your proof is, the higher your chances are going to be trusted in future.
4. Share one of your secret – Another thing that you can do is share your secrets of “creating irresistible Blue widgets”.
If you follow the above method, you’ll end up with a big damn email. So you better edit and re-edit your email. Remove all the un-necessary stuff that can be taken out without changing the message.
Pithy your content. Get foccussed.
