Day 20: Why I hate Internet Marketing

Today is day 20 of this internet marketing challenge. I hope things are going out for you if you are following it. So far here’s what you should have achieved by now…

Major Goals Achieved by Day 20:

1. Creating a List

2. Multiple streams of traffic.

3. Your own product (in this case a small report)

4. Your sales letter (Way too Important)

5. Creating trust in your subscriber (Blog to communicate with your subscribers.)

If in 20 days you have achieved all this, then you are very close to success. In fact some of you might have achieved a few sales (affiliate or your own product) by now.

You have done most of the hard work, now all you need to do is duplicate your success and cash on it. This is one the point which took me more than few months to understand.

Internet Marketing can be such a ……

Internet marketing can be such a &$^$# sometimes. Most of us aren’t living much better than 9-5 jobs. In fact we just switched to much worse jobs which involves us 24 hrs a day 7 days a week and 365 days a year.

Yeah, pay can be really good but trust me it isn’t as fun and luxury than what most marketers have you believed so far.

Why I am whining so much about this fact?

Well, actually I want to drive this point across to you. Unless you understand this you’ll be working your arse off and driving yourself insane.

The fact that most of us have turned this into a Job, rather than a business. If My work and my actions dictate how much money I am going to make this month, then I am pretty much at the job.

I didn’t understand this, until, my joints(neck, knee, elbow and wrist) started to ache. I knew I was spending way too much time on computer working it out rather than making my life easy.

Slowly I started making some changes into my ideas, my business. My business philosophy have evolved into much more complex & yet simple ideas. Today things are easier than it was 30-60 days ago.

I know I am talking too much into generalities and ambiguities but things are like that. I am saying all this because I want you to get serious about todays lesson.

I wanted you to get involved with more complex ideas without getting into complexities.

There are 2 things that every marketer try to understand…

1. Leverage.

2. Duplication.

Now these 2 factors are dependent on each other. Leverage is all about using all the assets in a way that produce better results without effort. Duplication is necessary for leveraging your assets from your business.

How do you leverage your assets?

This is going to be hard part to explain in just one post here but I’ll give you some examples.

One of the best way to leverage your major asset in Internet marketing is Affiliate set up. If you have a product (which You do now), you should create an affiliate program for it and start selling it through your affiliates. Now this takes more effort that most people would like you to believe.

But for starters Here you can do

1. Join a Affiliate network like Paydotcom.

2. Provide some sort of creatives for your affiliates

3. Give out some incentive for others to promote you.

There are others way you can leverage your efforts or assets but Like I said, I’ll keep it short.

Lets talk about Duplication : Now duplication is about taking a successful process and multiplying it. Please keep in mind, I said “Successful Process”.

Now I have a successful process of creating tons of products. I can use it to create products or have products created for me using this same process. If I put all my resources, I can have 7-10 different products in 1 week up and ready to sell. This is the power of duplication.

I would like to explain more but for today just understand this.. you can duplicate any successful process, be it traffic generation, article writing, product creation, or anything else that helps you in Internet Marketing and succeed massively.

So Today’s job to look at what you achieve in last 20 days. Find out successful process and duplicate them. Then try to leverage few of your assets (i.e. Your List, Your Product).

I’ll talk more about getting out of this so called Internet Marketing Job some other time.
