It’s all about results

I was going through my list of websites I have and noticed I had a website which I was not promoting at all… And it has been sitting there getting some traffic for last 6 months. I have many projects in the pipeline right now (including offline marketing) so I left it alone for last 6 months.

I noticed I was getting 2238 uniques visitors per month.  Which makes it at about 73 unique visitors per day.

So right now I just commissioned a product for the website. The best way to make money in any market is by your own products. With last 6 months of traffic stats, I have the keyword, I know what people are looking for and I know where they are landing.

If I am selling a $47 product and making 1 % conversion (which is easier than you might think). I’ll be making $1000 a month.

If I do nothing then I’ll be making $12000 a year with this website. Again look the at numbers. 73 Unique visitors is nothing. Heck I know quite a few of my readers/subscribers can generate far more than this.

Of course I am planning to spend some time promoting this website as I go along. But till then I have to work with these numbers.

My plan for this website is very simple. I want it to have around 500 uniques per day and around 1% conversion to the product. That’s 5 sales per day. And I am fixing the time limit for next 6 months. I am no hurry to get 500 uniques per day. 5 sales per day at $47 = $200/day . Would you like to hit your goals like this?

I know I can add 100 unique with a week of work and another 100 with about 10 days of work… So in next 6 months. I’ll be breezing along and getting my goals.

Why I am talking about numbers in such manner?

Today you can do your worse easily. But as you go along, spend your time, get experience, your numbers and figures will improve. There’s no substitute for experience.

Things often go wrong but you’ll learn from the experience. The more you do, the better you get at it.

I am doing nothing but talking about simplest of the goals.

1% conversion with 100 unique visitors. I don’t want more than that…

When you start out, this is the best goal. What’s the worse you can do here is have no sale in next few days? Then you have to sit down and figure out where exactly you go wrong. Where you can improve? what you can do to get 1%.

If you just focus on 1% for next 30 days, you’ll see tremendous results.
