Alexa doesn't help with traffic. Spend more of your time in promoting your website. If you are so worried about alexa rankings... here's an idea which you can use to manipulate the rankings... Install alexa toolbar in as many places you can (friends, relatives etc) Set up their Default home page in Internet Explorer and Mozilla to your website with alexa instsalled. Now everytime they'll open their browser, they'll visit your website with alexa toolbar and it'll help you in rankings... In a month your alexa rankings will jump... Leo is Right….
